Good Morning!!!!
My name is Kimberly Sayers but please feel free to call me Kim. We get real vulnerable in therapy so you might as well feel comfortable with the person that may come to know you better than most people in your life. I was originally born on a beautiful island in the Caribbean named Grenada in which I will lovingly refer to a "Greenz". I was raised in Brooklyn, New York and moved to the Low Country in 2017. I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunty and friend. I have had to personally navigate some challenging life seasons which ultimately grew my passion and desire to serve as a therapist.
I would like to address the big word “Christian” Therapist. Every person no matter age, belief system, years inside or outside of the church is welcome here. The topic of faith is a touchy one. Spirituality is a big deal for some folks as identity and spirituality comes hand in hand for them. As a result, if faith and spirituality is a key value for you, I can't authentically help you while leaving out such a substantial part of your life. As a compassionate therapist, I want to make room for my clients to fully explore all of themselves in a secure, nonjudgemental environment. If you are not big on spirituality, that’s ok too! There is room for you! You are wanted here! You have power in our time together. I am simply here to be present with you on your journey to mental health and wellness. I trained at Liberty University where I learned and now specialize in integrating faith in therapy where needed.
I have been working in the business of helping people well over 10 years in different facets and capacities! In therapy, relationship is a cornerstone focus area. Building relationships and providing the skills needed for success in all relationships is a tell tale sign that you are feeling better mentally and emotionally. We are relational beings. I work with individuals with an emphasis on enhancing your relationship with your self first. All good change begin with you as an individual. I help you navigate the challenges, heartaches, ebbs and flows of life by seeing your world through your eyes. I work with my clients to look within to truly get to know who you are, celebrate your strengths and empathetically empower you to work intentionally on your growth areas and goals. I am big on celebrating even your baby steps forward. We are all about progress not perfection. My greatest joy is seeing the look of wonder when my individual clients realize that you are making headways towards your goals. Please expect to meet an enthusiastic therapist who will affirm and highlight all the hard work you have been doing!
I have a special place in my heart for couples therapy. Did you know that I became a therapist primarily because I wanted to learn the tools and skills to use in my own marriage? I fell in love with an incredible man who comes from a very healthy and secure family system. My family is amazing but to be honest, I couldn’t say that I possessed the skills to show up as confidently as I wanted to in my marriage. I didn’t know at that time that I possessed a unique gift with helping couples develop fulfilling relationships and marriages. We are going past the status quo. Your relationships and marriages can be incredible! Let’s not settle for the mundane existence of day to day life. Let’s take your marriage higher and deeper together!
My ideal clients are young adults and adults both men and women who are curious about new possibilities. Who may not have the answers but have a feeling that there is more! My ideal client is you!
Lastly, I would like to share with you that I believe in a term called eternity impact. The eternity impact is a concept that answers the question “ Why am I on this earth?”. My answer to this question is “I am here to help people like you tap into a greater level of hope. Hope in experiencing a life worth living today in the here and now. I feel called to help individuals, couples and families see the beauty in today even in the life’s most greatest of challenges”. We often focus on the next season or “ when this happens, I will be able to feel good about life”. The truth is that life can be tough but just because it's hard doesn't mean we can't find the sparkle in today. My eternity impact includes helping people just like you realize how incredible you are right now as as you are. You will learn how to experience abundance and transformation in every area of your life because you will be equipped with skills, tools and the confidence to live a life worth living ….Here…. Now.
